    RESEARCH INTERESTS:

  • Dynamical regime of low-frequency climatic-variability and its predictability.
  • Conceptual and Numerical modeling of physical processes in ocean and atmosphere.
  • Interaction of Convection and Large-Scale Dynamics.
  • Air-Sea Interaction.
  • Development of Algorithms related Statistical Data analysis.
  • Linear and Nonlinear statistical dimensional reduction of large data sets.

    IMPORTANT RESULTS:

  • Theoretically predicted the characteristic wave number-frequency spectrum of Madden Julian Oscillation. Nearly 5 years later it was detected observationally using satellite data.
  • Developed a novel factor analysis algorithm which factorizes non-definite correlation matrices which are otherwise non-solvable by the existing Factor Analysis methods. In the process of filing for a Copy Right.
